Brandenburg Named Chair of NCAA D1 Men’s Wrestling Oversight Committee
June 22, 2026 | Wrestling, Athletics
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Deputy Athletics Director and Wrestling sport administrator Tricia Brandenburg has been named the chair of the NCAA DI Men's Wrestling Oversight Committee ahead of the 2026-27 wrestling season.
Brandenburg's term as DI Men's Wrestling Oversight Committee chair is effective as of Sept. 1, 2026.
"The sport of wrestling shaped my life, and like many involved in the sport, it was a catalyst for where I am today," said Brandenburg. "Chairing the NCAA DI Men's Wrestling Oversight Committee would seem surreal to the five-year-old going to wrestling practice with her dad or to the manager that kept score at the NCAA Wrestling Championship in 1997. I am incredibly proud to serve a sport that I love by providing leadership at both the NCAA and conference levels while representing Army West Point Athletics."
The oversight committee handles a robust number of items in relation to wrestling competition, including selection criteria, championship bids, policy adjustments, match officials, as well numerous other factors.
Brandenburg will be elevated to committee chair, currently serving as a member of the committee. She also continues to serve on the Wrestling championship and selection committee, a position she has held since September 2023.
Brandenburg has also been named chair of the EIWA Administrative Committee for 2026-27. Already a representative on the committee, Brandenburg takes the reins for the body that governs the operations and policies of the nation's oldest college wrestling conference.
The chair's term of office will be one year with no limitation on the number of consecutive years served. The chair will preside over all association meetings, hold membership on the executive committee and act on behalf of the membership between meetings.
Army West Point will host the 2027 EIWA Championships, on March 5-7. The NCAA Championships will follow on March 18-20 in St. Louis, Mo.
