McWhinney and Rowe Earn Patriot League Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Kamryn McWhinney and Ailyn Rowe both earn Patriot League Weekly Honors after their performances during last week's two home wins the Patriot League announced on Monday afternoon.
Rowe, a sophomore, was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman McWhinney was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
Rowe played all 180 minutes in both Black Knight's wins last week, accounting for a goal in the 3-2 victory over William & Mary. When the Tribe equalized the game at 1-1 early in the second half of Thursday's home opener, Rowe put the Black Knights back ahead just 30 seconds later off a beautiful find from Sophia Henry. She was also a key component in shutting out Vermont on Sunday, limiting the team to just three shots on goal and zero corner kicks.
McWhinney, a freshman from Macungie, Pa. takes home the Rookie of the Week honor after she played a crucial role in both the Black Knights home victories. She was a crucial component in both wins, scoring two goals for four points, including the game-winning goal, in Army's 3-2 win over William & Mary. She also contributed a goal in Army's 3-0 shutout of Vermont, notching a third goal in two games.
