Army Women's Basketball Announces Full 2026-27 Schedule

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point women's basketball has unveiled the program's full 2026-27 schedule, including a Patriot League slate that opens Dec. 30 against defending conference champion Holy Cross, Army Athletics announced on Thursday.
The Black Knights will play 18 regular season Patriot League games, a home-and-home series with each conference opponent. The Black Knights will play the annual Star Game, which is part of the Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA, on the road in Annapolis on February 20, 2027.
Army's non-conference matchups are headlined by trips to UNC, High Point, and Penn State. The Black Knights will kick off the 2026 slate with an exhibition at UCONN on October 25.
The schedule comes off a landmark first season for Kuester, who led the Black Knights to 26 wins — the second-most in program history — and was named the 2026 Spalding® Maggie Dixon NCAA Division I Rookie Coach of the Year. Army finished 14-4 in Patriot League play a year ago before falling to Holy Cross in the semifinal round of the Patriot League Tournament. The Black Knights' season continued into the postseason, where they won two games to become the first team in Patriot League history to reach the WNIT Great 8.
Army opens Patriot League play at home December 30 against Holy Cross, the reigning conference champion. The Black Knights beat the Crusaders 61-46 in their lone meeting at Christl Arena last season, led by 18 points and seven rebounds from senior forward Kya Smith.
The Black Knights host Loyola Maryland on January 2 — Army holds a 17-4 all-time series edge and has won nine of its last 10 meetings with the Greyhounds — before opening a stretch of five games in seven contests away from West Point. Army travels to Lehigh on January 6, looking to build on last season's 64-55 win over the Mountain Hawks, a series the Black Knights lead 31-30 all-time.
Conference play continues at home January 9 against Colgate, a series Army has won eight straight times, before back-to-back true road games at Bucknell (Jan. 13) and Lafayette (Jan. 16). Army beat Bucknell 56-43 in the two teams' last meeting, a win that clinched the No. 3 seed in last year's Patriot League Tournament, and topped Lafayette in the first round of that same tournament for the program's 65th meeting with the Leopards.
The Black Knights return home for a two-game stand January 20-23, hosting Lehigh for a second time before the first of the annual Army-Navy rivalry games on January 23 — the 88th meeting between the service academies, with Army holding a 45-42 series edge.
Army heads to Worcester, Massachusetts, on January 27 for a rematch with Holy Cross. Then, a home game against Bucknell (Jan. 30) precedes back-to-back road contests at American (Feb. 3) and Boston University (Feb. 6). Army beat American 86-56 in their last meeting, led by 22 points and four made 3-pointers from senior guard Camryn Tade, and split its two games with Boston University a season ago after winning four straight in the series before that.
The Black Knights close the regular season with a three-game homestand against Lafayette (Feb. 10), Colgate (Feb. 13) and American (Feb. 17), sandwiched around a road trip to Colgate — followed by the program's final two road games of the year at Navy (Feb. 20) for the Army-Navy Star Series Star Game, presented by USAA and Loyola Maryland (Feb. 23) and a regular-season finale at home against Boston University on February 26.
The Black Knights have won six of the last seven Star Games dating back to the 2017-18 season.
The Patriot League Tournament begins March 1, with the championship game set for March 9.
The regular season opens November 2 at home against St. Thomas Aquinas, kicking off an 11-game non-conference schedule that includes home dates with George Mason (Nov. 11), St. Thomas (Nov. 14) and Binghamton (Dec. 2), along with road trips to Brown (Nov. 5), UMass (Nov. 17) and Siena (Nov. 19).
The non-conference slate is headlined by road games against two Power Four programs — North Carolina (ACC) on November 27 and Penn State (Big Ten) on December 10 — as well as a first-ever meeting with 2026 Big South champion High Point (Nov. 29) and a service academy rivalry game at Air Force (Dec. 5).
Army's trip to Chapel Hill will mark the first-ever meeting between the Black Knights and the Tar Heels, who went 28-8 last season and reached the Sweet 16 of the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Two days later, Army makes its first all-time trip to High Point, which won its second straight Big South title and earned the third NCAA Tournament bid in program history last season.
On Dec. 5, the Black Knights renew their service academy rivalry with Air Force in Colorado Springs. Army won the teams' last meeting, 57-51 in overtime in 2024, on a game-tying three-pointer from Fiona Hastick with 52 seconds left in regulation. Army closes non-conference play at Penn State, just the second all-time meeting between the two programs and their first since a 2010 matchup.
Army's season begins with an exhibition against 2025 national champion UConn on October 25 in Connecticut. The Huskies went 38-1 last season and advanced to the Final Four of the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
