Bio
Prior to West Point: Competed in high school basketball at Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland... Named Conference Player of the Year, Conference First Team and All-Met honorable mention... Off the court, was named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll, earned the Principal’s Award and ranked in the top five in his class... Also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council... Played AAU basketball for WER1 UAA... His grandfather, Edd Hargett, was a quarterback at Texas A&M and later played in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints and Houston Oilers... His brother, Brant Furman, and uncle, Jason Furman, are Marine officers... His father, James Furman Jr., served as a Navy officer, and his grandfather, James Furman Sr., was an Army officer during the Vietnam War.
