Indoor 2019-20: Opened the season with a third place finish in the DMR at the Keydet Invitational...placed 13th in the 3000m run at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic...claimed silver with second place finishes in both the 3000m run and 5000m run at the Patriot League Championships.
Outdoor 2019: Opened the outdoor campaign with a second place finish in the 5000m at the UC Irvine Spring Break Classic...finished fourth in the 5000m at the Army-Navy Star Meet...placed third in the 10,000m at the Mt. Sac Relays...placed third in the 10k and fourth in the 5k at the Patriot League Championships...won the 10k at the IC4A Championships.
Indoor 2018-19: Opened the season with a fifth place finish in the 3000m at the Nittany Lion Challenge...placed third in the DMR at the Keydet Invitational...finished fourth in the 3000m at the Army-Navy Star Meet...posted third place finishes in the 3000m and 5000m at the Patriot League Championships.
Outdoor 2018: Started the season as the runner up at the UC Irvine Spring Break Classic in the 3000m run... Was the runner up in the 5000m run at the Army Navy Outdoor Star Meet... Ended the season as the eighth place finisher in the 5000m run and with a third place finish in the 10,000m run at the Patriot League Championships.
Indoor 2017-18: Started the season at the Wagner Invitational as the runner up in the 3000m run... Won the 5000m run at the Ted Nelson Invitational... Finished fourth in the 3000m run at the Penn State National Invitational... Won the 3000m run at the Army Navy Indoor Star Meet... Took home a pair of wins in the 3000m and 5000m runs at the Patriot League Championships.
Outdoor 2016-17: Kicked off the outdoor season with a second place finish in the 3000-meter run at the Spring Break Collegiate Classic… Against Navy finished second in the 5000-meter run.

High School: Petrella helped his cross country team qualify for three consecutive appearances at the Nike Cross Nationals Championships. Finished with a sixth place performance in Portland, Ore., at the Nike Cross Nationals to cap off his senior year. Petrella won an individual NYSPHSAA Class A Championship title, a NYSPHSAA Class A team title, a NXN New York Region individual title and a Gatorade Cross Country title.
