Prior to West Point: Played high school volleyball at Canyon High School, located in New Braunfels, Texas… Played varsity all four years at Canyon High School, and holds the school record for career kills (1,907)… Received many honors, including First Team All-District (UIL 29-6A) for three straight seasons (2023-25), UIL District 29-6A MVP (2025), two Fraulein All Tournament Team honors (2023-24), Fraulein Most Valuable Hitter (2025), UIL 29-6A Hitter of the Year (2024), two SA Express News Player of the Week honors through 2024 and 2025 and Volleypalooza All Tournament Team (2024)… Some bigger awards Lightest earned include TGCA All-Star Legacy Team and TGCA All-State Team (2025), SA Express News Super Team All-Area (2025) and AVCA All Region Team (2025)… Received club volleyball experience from TX United VBA (five seasons) and TX Alamo VBA (two seasons)… While playing club, her team earned a USA Junior National Championship in 2024, and she was named to the All-Tournament Team, plus was also a 18s Open Qualifier in Boston in 2026… Off the court, she made UIL 29-6A Academic All-District all four years of high school and was involved with National Honor Society and the American Sign Language (ASL) National Honor Society, where she served as both chapters’ president for 2024 to 2026… Her father, Jeffrey Lee Lightsey, is a member of the US Army National Guard (CW5)… Her grandfather, Laurence Irving Duggan served in the Air Force and reached the rank of major… Her uncle, Kevin Laurence Duggan served in the Navy and reached the rank of captain… Her cousin, Colin Michael Duggan serves in the Navy as a lieutenant.
