2016-17: Wrestled to an even 13-13 record at 149 pounds as a junior … went 1-4 in duals … added five bonus point wins with one fall, one technical fall and three major decisions … opened the season with a 2-2 showing at the Hokie Open (11/6) … won his first two matches … competed against eventual national champion and No. 1 Zain Retherford of Penn State in a dual (11/11) … placed third at the Roadrunner Open with a 5-1 record (11/20) … notched a 13-3 major decision over Cal Poly’s Killian Vendler … topped Purdue’s Jeremy Golding, 3-2, in the third-place bout for his 25th-career win … wrestled at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (12/3) … competed at the “Shorty” Hitchcock Memorial (1/14) … went 3-2 at the event … defeated Hofstra’s Ryan Burkert, 5-4, for his first dual win of the year (1/21) … placed fourth at the All-Academy Championships (1/29) … went 2-2 with two bonus point wins … earned a 15-0 technical fall over VMI’s Alex Rinehurst in the opening round … added an 8-0 major decision against Matt Vieira of Coast Guard.
