Army-Navy Tied At 2 After Day One

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Matt Philie and David Marxrolled to a 3&2 victory and two other teams earned half points as Army and Navy are tied 2-2, following four, four-ball matches, Saturday at Naval Academy Golf Course.
Competing in the annual "Star" match in a Ryder Cup formatted event, both teams won a match while having the other two. Sunday's seven singles matches will begin at 8:30 a.m. in pursuit of the coveted star.
While Philie and Marx posted a victory, Eric and William Park and Ethan Johnson and Robby Hillhalved their matches.
Philie and Marx, playing together for the first time, beat Drew Selby and Bobby Keating. In marked Philie's third win in four-ball while Marx earned a point in his first career match.
Eric and William Park, brothers playing together, halved their match with Tim Shield and David Hall, as did Johnson and Hill with Peter Reilly and Collier Jones.
Navy's Tyler Kuhn and August Jonas beat Brandon Baerwaldt and Anthony Kim, 3&2.
Sunday's singles matches are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. at the par-71 Naval Academy Golf Course.
