ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

- Loyola outshot the Black Knights 9-6, while also holding the edge on shots on goal at 5-3.
- Gottlieb and Brianna Nicholas led Army with two shots each.
- Shea scored her team-leading fourth goal of the year. She now sits with 13 season points which is also tops on the team

- Army finished with four saves to Loyola's one.
- Senior Jordan Cassalia now sits with 67 saves on the year and 296 in her career.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gottlieb put the Black Knights up 1-0 at the 23:19 mark when she redirected a Shea cross with her head. The junior eyed up the beautiful cross from her fellow classmate in the center of the box. Without hesitation, Gottlieb leaped up over her defender to net the game's opening goal.
- A little more than six minutes later, Shea tallied one of her own after she chipped the goalie in transition from 40-yards out. The play originated after Cassalia and Brooke Richardson were forced to make back-to-back saves on the other end of the pitch, including one on a point-blank shot from within the six-yard box. That great play sparked a fast break opportunity for the Black Knights in which Shea intercepted a pass from the Loyola goalie at midfield. The junior took a few touches before launching a shot over the head of Lily Andres that bounced into the back of the net.
- The Greyhounds pulled within 2-1 in the 71st minute when Nicole Wahlig finished off a loose ball from inside the box. After Army failed to clear the ball, Loyola collected it and poked it past Cassalia, who was trying to come out to make the stop.
- From that point on, the energy of the matched turned up with both teams fighting for those critical Patriot League points.
- Fortunately for the hosts, the Black Knights were able to fend off any final Loyola attempts on frame to register the win.
