Rifle Hosts USciences in NCAA Qualifier
February 19, 2016 | Rifle
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point rifle team hosts its NCAA qualifier this Saturday, Feb. 20, when it welcomes the University of Sciences. The Black Knights enter the contest 4-7 overall and while the Devils are 0-8 on the year.
These two schools meet frequently as Army's NCAA qualifier to end the regular season. Last year, the Black Knights topped USciences 4630-4109 in aggregate with a 2291-2028 advantage in smallbore and 2339-2081 in air rifle.
"I think the big thing is just that we perform well," said Army head coach Web Wright III. "Our score is being compared across the country. This will feed into the average, (although) it is weighted more. As a team, we have to do pretty well to get into that top eight to make the NCAA's. Individually, I think a good performance by anybody will put them on the invitation list."
