Women’s Lacrosse Faces Boston U. on the Road

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team finishes its inaugural 2016 season with back-to-back road games, beginning this weekend with a contest at Boston University on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m.

Army fell to a 16-7 defeat to Colgate in its home finale on April 20. The Black Knights led 5-1 at halftime before the Raiders seized control in the second period, and outscored the hosts 15-2 in the second frame.
Junior Erin Jollota scored her second hat trick of the season and added an assist to lead Army, while freshmen Kelsea Krauss and Izzy McMahon each found the back of the net twice.
ARMY WEST POINT (5-10, 0-7 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• The reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Week, McMahon has 10 goals in six games since joining the squad in late March. McMahon paces the team with nearly 1.7 goals per contest.
• Sophomore Kiersten Spencer leads Army with 16 caused turnovers through 15 games, while the Black Knights stand third in the Patriot League with 8.33 caused turnovers per game.
• Sophomore Amy Johnston continues to lead the Black Knights with 23 goals on the season, while classmate Rachel Hornick is one behind Johnston's total, with 22 markers.
• Freshman Kayla Rowley has posted at least 10 saves in three games this season and ranks second in the Patriot League with 2.67 ground balls per outing.
BOSTON UNIVERSITY (8-7, 5-3 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Saturday's matchup will mark Boston University's final regular-season game of the year, as the Terriers enter the weekend fresh off an 11-4 victory over Holy Cross on April 20.
• Sophomore Mickenzie Larivee finished with a game-high four points (3 goals, 1 assist) versus Holy Cross, while senior Ally Adams also provided three goals.
• Boston University ranks second only to Bucknell in scoring this season, as the Terriers score an average of 11.53 goals per game.
• Larivee leads the way in the scoring department, as she has 30 goals and is one of only 10 players league wide to have reached the 30-goal mark this season.
UP NEXT
Army closes out the season on April 30, when the Black Knights make the trip to Baltimore, Md., to face Loyola at 1 p.m.
