Women’s Tennis Loses at Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's team suffered its first loss in its last 11 matches on Wednesday afternoon. The Black Knights lost 7-0 on the road to Albany. They are now 17-4 this season while the Great Danes move to 10-6.

The pairing of junior Nancy Porter and freshman Genevieve McCormick lost for the first time this spring by the narrow margin of 7-6. They are now 5-1.

McCormick also lost in the top singles flight for the first time in her career. The freshman took the first set against Paulina Torres 6-3 but then lost 1-6, 0-6. McCormick is 10-6 in the spring in singles and 3-1 in the number one position.

The Cadets return to conference action this weekend when they host Patriot League foes Boston University and Bucknell on Saturday and Sunday. The latter match will be Senior Day as Army will recognize four seniors, Haley O'Connor, Carolyn Pitman, Gabriella Spindler, and Eva Sung.
