Women’s Army-Navy Tilt Set for Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team hosts Navy on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and will kick off an Army-Navy doubleheader, as the men's teams will face off at 1:30 p.m.

STORYLINES
Army and Navy will meet for the 67th time on Saturday, with the Black Knights owning a 34-32 lead in the rivalry.
Sophomore Madison Hovren has led Army in scoring in 15 of 18 games this season, but the Black Knights have had a different leading scorer in each of their last three games. Hovren led the way with 30 points at Colgate (1/11), junior Destinee Morris had a team-best 16 points against American (1/15) and sophomore Jess Lewis scored a career-high 22 points to lead the Cadets at Holy Cross (1/18).
THE ARMY-NAVY SERIES
Army controls a 34-32 advantage in its all-time series versus Navy. The rivalry began at the Dartmouth-Burger King Invite on Jan. 18, 1981, with the Cadets earning a 65-48 victory. Army has won three straight in the series, dating back to a 58-46 victory in Annapolis on Feb. 7, 2015.
ARMY (14-4, 5-2 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Lewis paced the Black Knights with a career-high 22 points and junior Aliyah Murray posted her third career double-double with 13 points and a career-best 14 rebounds to lead Army to a 67-59 win at Holy Cross on Wednesday.
• The Black Knights held a 48-46 lead entering the fourth quarter, but began the fourth with seven unanswered points and never trailed the rest of the way.
• Along with her 22 points, Lewis also set a career standard with six three-pointers on a 6-for-10 shooting night from long range.
• Army outrebounded Holy Cross 49-38, thanks to the 14 rebounds from Murray and nine more from Hovren.
NAVY (13-5, 6-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Navy comes in winners of six straight, including a 66-64 buzzer-beating victory at Lehigh on Wednesday.
• Taylor Dunham buried a three-pointer as time expired to give the Mids the two-point win.
• Dunham and Ashanti Kennedy each scored 12 points against Lehigh, while Hannah Fenske led the team with 14 points.
• Navy is the Patriot League's highest scoring team entering the weekend, with an average of 70.8 points per game.

The Black Knights take a week off from competition before returning to the court on Saturday, Jan. 28 to face Patriot League-leading Bucknell for a 6 p.m. contest in Lewisburg, Pa.
