Women’s Basketball Faces Bucknell Saturday Night

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After a week off from competition, the Army West Point women's basketball team is set to return to the court on Saturday, Jan. 28, when it travels to play Bucknell at 6 p.m.

STORYLINES
Army travels to face Patriot League-leading Bucknell for its first of nine games this season in which it will play an opponent for the second time. The remainder of Army's regular-season schedule will feature repeat matchups, with the exception of two games against Boston University on Feb. 22 and March 1.
Junior Destinee Morris started for the third time in a row last time out against Navy and classmate Aliyah Murray made the first start of her career. Junior Janae McNeal returned to the lineup as a reserve after missing the previous two games because of injury.
THE ARMY-BUCKNELL SERIES
Bucknell leads Army, 34-25, in a rivalry dating back to Feb. 16, 1984. The Bison earned a 60-56 victory over the Black Knights at West Point earlier this season on Jan. 2.
ARMY (14-5, 5-3 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Army fell to its third Patriot League defeat of the year, with a 63-58 loss against Navy on Jan. 21.
• Army led, 54-50, at the 3:00 mark of the fourth quarter, before Navy closed the game by outscoring the Black Knights, 13-4, over the last 2:53.
• Sophomore Madison Hovren paced the Cadets with 14 points and Destinee Morris added 12 points, while knocking in four three-pointers.
• Murray notched her second consecutive double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds versus the Mids.
BUCKNELL (16-3, 8-0 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Bucknell won its program-record 11th straight game after earning a 66-50 road win at Boston University on Jan. 21.
• Kate Walker led the Bison with 22 points, while Claire DeBoer posted a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double.
• Bucknell enters the weekend leading the Patriot League in rebounds per game (40.2) and rebounds allowed per game (32.1).
