Cadets Participate in Bison Outdoor Classic

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's track and field is heading to Lewisburg, Pa., for the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell Friday and Saturday.

LAST YEAR
- Tyler Davis ran the 100 meter dash in 10.70 seconds to place third, just ahead of his teammate Jose Santana who was fifth in a time of 10.76.
- In the 200 meter dash, Santana (21.58) bested Davis (21.76) as the two placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Andre Vaughn also competed in the 100 meter dash and ran 11.06s.
- Ross Puritty placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.85s. Nick Beavers placed eighth with a time of 14.93.
- Beavers finished seventh in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 54.22s.
- Ben Boswell's personal best of 1:52.61 in the 800 meter run was good enough for 13th place.
- In the 1500-meter run, Trevor Touchton
LAST TIME OUT
- Army fell to Navy 108-95 as they were battling for the Star.
- Senior captain Jose Santana captured gold in the 400-meter dash clocking 48.07s. In the 800-meter run, Nick Causey pulled away a victory with a time of 1:51.81. Keagan Smith shined in the 1500-meter run crossing the finish line in 3:51.63. Senior Jacob Fong secured first in the steeplechase clocking a time of 9:12.21.
- The final track events of the day included a 4x100 meter relay win from Kevin Dyer, Tyler Davis, Ben Sims and Santana with a time of 40.41s. Tyrell Maddox, Bradley Gibson, Marcus Denham and Santana secured the 4x400 meter relay win with a time of 3:15.86.
- In the field events, Jeff Giannettino captured first in the high jump with a height of 2.02 meters. In the pole vault, Lee bares reached 5.15 meters in his first-place victory. Sims leapt his way to the winner circle in the long jump with a distance of 7.27 meters.
