Army to Compete at the Penn Relays

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's track and field team is heading to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. Since its inception in 1895 it is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States.

LAST YEAR AT THE LARRY ELLIS INVITATIONAL

The 4x100 meter relay team of Jose Santana, Ben Sims, Kevin Dyer and Tyler Davis placed fifth clocking a time of 40.53s, .09 seconds off of the school record.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Trevor Touchton, Jack Monday, Ben Boswell placed second with a time of 7:23.40.
In the pole vault, Lee Bares placed tied for fifth at 5.05 meters.

WHAT TO WATCH

The 4x100 meter relay team will be returning with the same four guys to try and improve from last year's fifth place finish.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Alex Combs, Boswell, Jack Monday and Tyrell Maddox will look to improve to a first place victory after falling just short last year. They will be competing in the Championship of America division, the division above the collegiate section.
The main highlight will be the Distance Medley race which will be competing in the Championship of America division. The team of Touchton, Maddox, Nick Causey and Keagan Smith are looking to break the school record in this prestigious event.
