Army Looks to Defend Patriot League Title

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's golf team will look for Patriot League title No. 12 over the weekend at Bucknell's golf course in Lewisburg, Pa.

LOCATION: Bucknell Golf Club (Lewisburg, Pa.)
COURSE INFO: Par 71 – 6,224 yards
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Two days, 54 holes (18 on Saturday, 36 on Sunday)

2016 PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

As a team the Black Knights scratched 284-284-282 – 850 (-2) over the two-day tournament. Navy was the next best finisher accumulating 20 strokes over par.
Dean Sakata clinched the individual title by nine strokes on the final day of competition. He finished with scores of 66-69-67 – 202 (-11). That performance was also good enough to earn him Patriot League Golfer of the Year nods.
Peter Kim was the Black Knights next best scorer, shooting 212 (-2) over the weekend to place him fourth overall.
Justin Pagila (229 (+15)) and Matt Plunkett (232 (+18)) rounded out the rest of the Army scoring.

LAST TIME OUT

First-year Gunnar Doyle finished tied for first at the Colgate Spring Classic. He shot 72-74 – 146 (+2) over the two-day singles tournament.
Justin Pagila came in third scratching 73-75 – 148 (+4). He was joined by Justin Williamson (159 (+15)) who tied for eighth and Brian Stecker (164 (+20)) in 11th.

UP NEXT

The Cadets will travel to the NCAA Regionals on May 15-16. The location of this event will be decided at a later date.
