Army Splits Home Tri-Match

WEST POINT - N.Y. - The Army West Point rifle team split its tri-match against West Virginia and Coast Guard on Saturday.
"I feel pretty good about our performance today," head coach Web Wright said. "Payne (Nunn) led the way with a personal record in smallbore. He tied the reigning Olympic gold medalist, so not too shabby."
"Our air rifle performance was a little low from what we have been doing," Wright said. "Kaitlyn (Kutz) was the Army high score with a 590."
Army posted it's highest aggregate score of the season, shooting a 4658. Nunn led the way for the Black Knights, shooting an aggregate score of 1175.
"The aggregate, 4658, is one of the program's better scores and we have shown improvement from the season opener," Wright said. "It's coming together and I'm looking forward to the All Academy match next weekend."
