Black Knights Depart for Midweek Matchup at Iona

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team continues its non-league slate with a midweek test at Iona on Wednesday. The opening draw for the first-ever meeting between the two teams is slated for 3 p.m.

ARMY (2-2, 0-0 Patriot League)
• Army is looking to rebound from its 14-10 setback at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
• The Black Knights recently posted program scoring records against CCSU for goals in a game (21) and goals in a half (15).
• Rachel Hornick and Maddie Miller are tied for the most points on the team with 14 each.
• Hornick currently has 91 career points and is nine away from becoming the first player in program history to reach triple digits.
• Miller has recorded a goal and an assist in each of the squad's first four games this season.
• Manuela Cortes has netted a team-best eight goals.
• Maddie Burns has started all four games for the Cadets, posting a 10.57 goals-against average and a .362 save percentage.

• The Gaels are riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Sacred Heart (13-8) and Holy Cross (11-4) last week.
• Iona is 3-0 at home.
• The Gaels' offense comes from three primary weapons: Pamela Giordano, Katelyn Noschese and Jenna Tolzmann.
• Giordano leads the team in points (13) and goals (13), while Noschese is second with 11 points and nine scores.
• Tolzmann is the only other Iona player with double-digit points this season with 10 on nine goals and one assist.
• Shannon McCaffrey has played all four games in the crease, sporting a 9.00 goals-against average and a .532 save percentage, having made 41 stops this year.
