Army Drops Final Match to No. 3 Stanford

PALO ALTO, CALIF. - The Army West Point men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match Sunday afternoon to the No. 3 ranked Stanford men's tennis team at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Army now falls to 7-9 on the season, while Stanford improves to 14-1 overall.
Senior Michael Sienko posed a threat early on for Stanford's Timothy Sah after taking the first set, 7-6.
"I thought we played extremely well. Our guys fought very hard against a highly ranked opponent, and I am very proud of their performance," head coach Jim Poling said.
The match also doubled as Military Appreciation Day. The Cadets were recognized by Stanford head coach Paul Goldstein for their commitment to serving our country. Representatives from the non-profit organization Thanks USA were also in attendance, who discussed their mission to provide aid and scholarships to the children and spouses of current military members.
