WILMINGTON, N.C. – Army West Point golf team completed the final round of the Seahawk Intercollegiate here Monday to finish 11th overall at the event.

Army posted its best score during the opening round, shooting a 303 as a team. The Black Knights closed the two-day event with marks of 303-310-310—923 (+59). Host UNC Wilmington took home first place after carding 289-279-294—864 (-2). They were the only team to finish under-par. Campbell jumped Michigan State in the final round to notch the second spot. The Camels compiled scores of 291-285-298—874 (+10).

TOURNAMENT NOTES

Dean Sakata paced the Black Knights with his best scoring coming during the second round. The senior captain finished with marks of 76-74-77—227 (+11) to close out the tournament tied with three other golfers for 30th.
Nick Turner jumped up eight spots to make him Army's next best finisher. The junior tied for the 54th spot after compiling a 78-81-74—233 (+17).
Justin Williamson followed immediately after with scores of 77-80-77—234 (+18). The sophomore took 58th place.
Gunnar Doyle carded a 75-76-85—236 (+20) to tie with three other golfers for the 59th spot.
Rookie James McKee closed out the Black Knights scorers in 63th place after scratching a 75-80-82—237 (+21).
Joseph Gerardi, who was playing as an individual compiled marks of 78-85-85—248 (+32) to earn 74th.
