ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team set an Academy record on the second day of competition at the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational at Lejeune Hall.
Army currently sits in seventh with 221 points. George Washington still remains in the the lead with 316.5 points, while South Carolina (278), Denver (275), Navy (267) and Incarnate Word (236) round out the top-five.

ARMY NOTABLES
- Kevin Doo broke an Academy record in the 100 fly after hitting the wall at 48.18, which was good for a second-place showing.
- In the 200 free, Peter Mikheyev (1:37.42) and Tom Ottman (1:38.71) placed fifth and eighth, respectively. Sean Martin also competed in the event, finishing sixth in the B-Final at 1:41.29.
- The group of Brian McKenrick, Josh Zock, Doo and Billy Webber placed 12th in the 200 medley relay after finishing with a time of 1:32.67.
- McKenrick would later take seventh in the 100 back with a time of 49.35.
- The Black Knights closed out the second day of competition with a sixth-place showing in the 800 free relay. The foursome of Mikheyev, Ottman, Doo and Martin swam to a time of 6:44.58.

- "It was a solid second day for us," head coach Mickey Wender said. "It's been a long grind through the championship season and we're hanging tough. I'm especially pleased with Kevin Doo's ability to keep lowering his Academy record in the 100 fly. The group at this meet is learning a lot and have an amazing experience. We're so grateful for the opportunity to compete at a national level event."

- The Cadets will compete one last time in the 2017-18 campaign when they finish up the CSCAA National Invitational tomorrow with prelimins starting at 10:30 a.m.
