ROUND 1 RESULTS

EWA BEACH, Hawai'i – Led by a 2-under round of 70 from Gunnar Doyle, the Army West Point golf team sits in a tie for 12th in a large field at the Hoakalei Invitational on Monday.

The Black Knights finished with a team score of 291 (+3). Ole Miss leads the way on the team leaderboard after an opening round team score of 270 (-18). Charlie Miller of the Rebels is at the top of the individual leaderboard with a first round scorecard of 65.

TOURNAMENT NOTES

Doyle was Army's top golfer on the course Monday and finished with four birdies, which all came on the front nine.
Doyle sits in a tie for 15th place on the individual leaderboard.
Justin Williamson and Tom Katsenes ended their opening round with an even par 72 and are tied for 37th.
Williamson was consistent over the final 12 holes and was 1-under on during that stretch.
Katsenes finished with two birdies and 14 pars in round one.

The Black Knights are back on the course tomorrow at Hoakalei Country Club for round two of three this week.
