Casanova, Del Cid Earn All-America Honors

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Cole Casanova of the Army West Point gymnastics team soared above the competition in Saturday's individual finals of College Nationals when he stuck his landing for a 14.700 on vault.
Casanova was the champion of the event to earn All-America honors for the first time in his career. The 14.700 was a career-high for Casanova and tied Army's program record on the apparatus. The next closest score was a 14.500.
Erik Del Cid also garnered All-America honors as he placed sixth. The sophomore posted a 13.900 in the final day of competition.
The Black Knights compete next Saturday in Springfield, Mass., for the ECAC Championships.
