HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Midshipmen wasted no time to showcase their offensive attack. Over the opening 11 minutes of play, Navy went on an 8-0 run.
- With 18:58 on the clock, Olivia Carter surveyed the field and found Brattan near the net. The sophomore was open on top of the crease and scored on a quick stick.
- After back-to-back Navy scores, the Black Knights countered at the 11:13 mark. Raymond had the ball and was warded off by a defender. However, she found a cutting Scott and the junior put one into the back of the net to trim the deficit to eight, 10-2.
- Brattan added her second goal of the game before the Midshipmen went on a 5-1 run to close out the half and go into the break leading 15-4.
- Army struck first in the second half once Raymond rolled around the outside of the crease before rifling a shot into the net.
- The Midshipmen responded with a 5-0 run before a Raymond goal ended a scoring drought with 13:59 remaining. Navy would get that goal back and go on to secure the home win despite two Army goals in the closing 7:10 by Brattan and Andrews.
