HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite two early goals from Raymond, the Black Knights found themselves trailing, 3-2. The deficit could have been larger but Burns made a bevy of saves, including one on a straightaway free position shot by the Raiders.
- With 7:28 remaining in the opening half, Brattan was fouled and capitalized on a free position strike after she ripped a shot into the back of the net to even the score at 3-3.
- Colgate turned the ball over on its ensuing possession and the Cadets trekked down the field. The ball was in Raymond's stick and she used a series of moves near the edge of the crease before putting a shot past the Raiders' netminder to complete the hat trick.
- Army tacked on an additional score in the closing minute of the first stanza after Brattan tallied her second free position score of the game with 45 seconds on the clock to give her team a two-goal lead entering the break.
- The Raiders came out for the second half and needed just over four minutes to score two goals and even up the score at five apiece.
- The two teams did not stay deadlocked for long as 25 seconds later, Stewart set up Brattan for a goal. That Army score sparked a 4-0 run that put the Cadets ahead, 9-5.
- Colgate trimmed the deficit to three, 9-6, following a goal with 15:28 left to play. However, both offenses got quiet and for over 10 minutes, the two sides went without a goal. At the 4:27 mark, the Raiders broke the drought to make it a two-goal game.
- Army outscored Colgate, 3-2, in the closing 2:50 of play to hang on and secure the Patriot League road victory.
