Women's Lacrosse Rolls to 15-9 Win at Boston U.

BOSTON – It was another monumental day for the Army West Point women's lacrosse team as the Black Knights secured a top-four seed in the Patriot League Tournament after taking down Boston University, 15-9, on Saturday afternoon at Nickerson Field.
The win guaranteed Army (12-4, 5-3 Patriot League) a home game in the quarterfinals of the league tournament and an opportunity to fight for the third seed with one game remaining in the regular season.
The Black Knights had seven different goal scorers and received a dominant performance in between the pipes from Maddie Burns. The junior netminder came away with 12 saves, including nine in the first half.
Caroline Raymond paced the offense versus the Terriers (11-5, 6-2 Patriot League) with a program-best nine points on five goals and four assists.
Samantha Stewart and Manuela Cortes also finished the afternoon with a hat trick.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage after scoring within the first minute of action.
- Army responded with four unanswered goals over a 10-minute span with Stewart coming away with a pair of scores.
- The Black Knights' defense was on its game, holding the Terriers scoreless for nearly 17 minutes. The scoring draught came to an end with 12:27 on the clock once Boston U. found the back of the net.
- Army outscored the Terriers 3-2 in the closing 11:12 and went into the break leading, 7-4.
- Back-to-back goals by Raymond opened the second half to give the Black Knights a five-goal lead, 9-4. However, Boston U. tallied three unanswered goals over a two-minute span to pull within two with 23:27 on the clock.
- Army remained poised, despite allowing the three goals, and held the Terriers scoreless for over 18 minutes. During that stretch, the Cadets pieced together a 3-0 run of their own after Cortes, Raymond and Olivia Carter each found the back of the net.
- With 5:24 remaining, Boston U. tallied a score, but once again the Black Knights had an answer. Raymond found the back of the net before assisting on back-to-back goals to help Army go ahead by seven, 15-8, with just minutes to play.
- Boston U. added one more goal on the afternoon, but that was as close as they would get as the Black Knights captured the Patriot League road win.
