WEST POINT, N.Y. – Following its bye week, the Army West Point football team will resume its slate with a game at Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 16. The action against the Badgers is set for an 8 p.m. EST start in Madison, Wis. and will be carried on the Big Ten Network. Â

The contest between the Black Knights (4-1) and the Badgers (2-3, 1-2 Big Ten) can additionally be found across 25 radio stations in nine different states via the Army Sports Network. Additionally, the call can be heard for free via the Varsity Network app.

On the Road Again
- Saturday's game will be Army's second-straight on the road.
- The Black Knights are coming off their first loss of the season, which they suffered at Ball State (Oct. 2).
- The Cardinals' first-quarter scoring spurt was the difference in that outing, as Army fell 16-28 at Scheumann Stadium.
- With the result, the Cadets dropped to 1-1 in road contests in 2021. The team's lone win came during the season-opener at Georgia State (43-10; Sept. 4).
Series History
- This will be the first-ever meeting between the Badgers and the Black Knights.
- Wisconsin is the only team on Army's 2021 docket that the program has never faced before.
- Last season's Cadets were 4-0 against first-time opponents, earning wins over Middle Tennessee State, Louisiana-Monroe, Abilene Christian and Georgia Southern.
- In total, the Black Knights outscored those teams 162-57 with each game played at Michie Stadium.Â
Scouting the Black Knights
- Coming out of the bye, Army remains ranked among the nation's leaders in numerous categories such as time of possession (first; 40:01), rushing offense (second; 318.2), fewest penalties (second; 18), blocked punts (second; three) and rushing defense (third; 54.0).
- From an individual standpoint, the Black Knights are also well-represented among the stat leaders as linebacker Andre Carter II's 7.5 sacks lead all FBS football players and quarterback Christian Anderson is fifth in rush yards per carry (7.43 yds).
- On the ground, four different Black Knights have rushed for 150+ yards: Anderson (431), running back Tyrell Robinson (237), running back Jakobi Buchanan (187) and running back Anthony Adkins (185).
- Additionally, 10 different Cadets have found the end zone through the team's first five games, with Anderson's five leading the team.
- Defensively, Army has recorded one interception in all but one outing this year. The nation's top defensive unit from a season ago has limited opponents to 250-yards-or-less on three different occasions (177 at Georgia State; 225 vs. UConn; 232 vs. Miami OH).
Scouting the Badgers
- Wisconsin is coming off its first shutout win of the year after defeating Big Ten foe Illinois 24-0 in Champaign, Ill. on Saturday night (Oct. 9).
- The team rushed for a season-high 391 yards, thanks to the efforts of running backs Chez Mellusi (145 yds., 1 TD) and Braelon Allen (131 yds., 1 TD).
- Wisconsin's outing was additionally highlighted by tight end Jake Ferguson catching a pass in his 39th-straight game. With the catch, Ferguson broke the school record for consecutive games with a reception, which was previously held by Lee Evans (WR; 2000-03).
- As a team, the Badgers lead the nation in fewest penalty yards per game (55 yds.) and rushing defense (41.4) and check in at second in total defense (217.8).
- On Saturday, the Badgers will look to up their 2021 record at Camp Randall Stadium to 2-2. The team's lone home victory this year was a 34-7 decision over Eastern Michigan on Sept. 11.
