Davis, Nauman Move on to NCAA Championship

NORMAN, Okla. --- Army West Point Men's Gymnastics finished fifth at the NCAA Championship Qualifier but had two Black Knights qualify for the NCAA Championship as individuals, on Friday night.
Mathew Davis punched his ticket for the all-around while Jacob Nauman notched a spot in the vault finals.

Army opened the meet on vault posting a team score of 67.798. Nauman led the team with a score of 13.933. Connor Cavanagh recorded a 13.733 followed by Davis and Steven Manolakis who each scored a 13.633.

The Black Knights had a strong showing on parallel bars finishing with a team score of 65.232. Davis finished with a team-high 13.233, followed by Patrick Armstrong with 13.166.

Zachary Mitchell led the team on high bar with a score of 12.700. Joseph Buselmeier scored of 12.566 to help push the team score to 61.899. Â The Black Knights recorded a team score of 65.098 led by Davis with a score of 13.700. Nauman followed with a score of 13.366.

Army had trouble on the pommel horse scoring 51.466 as a team. Gabe Almeida led with a 12.200. On rings, Davis posted a team-best 13.366 followed by Armstrong with 13.266. The Black Knights finished with a score of 65.198 on rings.
Army finished in fifth place with a score of 376.691. Michigan, Ohio State and Oklahoma claimed the top-three spots to advance to the NCAA Championship.
