Rabble Rousers Enjoy Successful Outing at National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals
April 25, 2022 | Rabble Rousers
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point Rabble Rousers recently wrapped up their 2021-22 season at the National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Â
For the first time ever, the program competed in the Small Co-Ed Intermediate Division 1A group and placed eighth out of 13 teams.
Â
Despite having only two full months to work with head coach Tommy Escudero, the Rabble Rousers' hard work paid off as the team put on an excellent routine on the cheer floor at NCA Nationals.
Â
"We are excited to end the season with a strong routine and are already looking forward to next season," Escudero said. "The Rabble Rousers received numerous complements from spectators and NCA Staff and I am very proud of the way that they represented Army West Point."
Â
One of the judges noted on the Rabs' scoresheet that the team was a "good representation of its institution" and was celebrated for its "strong, clean routine in a large competitive division". Amongst the top-10 teams, the scores were very close.
Â
The last time that the Black Knights made an appearance at the National Championship was during April 2019, when the Cadets competed in the Small Coed Division 1A.
