Shine Lim & Lauren Little Named April Scholar-Athletes by Center for Enhanced Performance

WEST POINT, NY -Â The Army West Point Athletics Association's Academic Support team has selected its scholar-athletes for the month of April, recognizing rabble rousers junior Shine Lim and softball junior Lauren Little.
Rabble Rousers
Shine Lim
Cadet Shine Lim consistently demonstrates excellence as a cadet and an Army West Point Rabble Rouser. An Applied Psychology major, Cadet Lim currently maintains a 3.91 cumulative GPA, the highest GPA of a veteran athlete on the team. Her instructors note that Cadet Lim's academic performance reflects her dedication to learning and her disciplined pursuit of excellence in the classroom. Additionally, Cadet Lim demonstrates excellence in the physical and military pillars by maintaining a 3.89 physical GPA and a 3.52 military GPA.

In addition to her academic achievements, Cadet Lim is developing into a servant-leader. Among her instructors, chain of command, peers, and teammates, Cadet Lim is known for her positive attitude and willingness to help others. In fact, she was awarded the Black Knight Community Service Award for her volunteer work within the Corps of Cadets and the West Point Community at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season.

Softball
Lauren LittleÂ
CDT Lauren Little, a junior and starting shortstop on the Army West Point Women's Softball team, has emerged as a team leader both on and off the field. Since the season began, she has established herself as the vocal leader which anchors the defense and has been an offensive catalyst with a .641 OPS. Lauren has been the driving force in the team's early season success taking over games in tight spots and anchoring the defense with many remarkable put-outs. Her on-field confidence, leadership, and work ethic, both in practice and during games, is clearly providing inspiration for her teammates.

In addition to her athletic contributions, Lauren has been performing exceptionally well in the classroom. Her cumulative GPA through the mid-point of her junior year is 3.951. She has consistently earned an academic average at or near 3.0 during each of her previous five academic semesters. As of the 10-week mark of the current term, she is posting above a 3.5 GPA and trending upwards. She has consistently demonstrated excellent performance in the classroom, and is working hard to continue excellence in academic performance.

CDT Little continues to work hard on developing her military leadership skills. She consistently receives positive comments from her instructors, chain of command, peers, and subordinates about exceptional work ethic, outstanding personal discipline and self-control, and exemplary commitment to duty performance. She sets a tremendous example for others to follow, and has been demonstrating the ability to improve her leadership skills by being more vocal and by helping others to improve their skills and performance.Â
