Women's Soccer Wins Third Straight in 3-0 Win Over UAlbany

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's soccer team notched its third consectutive win and second straight shutout in a 3-0 victory over UAlbany on Wednesday night at Malek Stadium.
Kaitlin Palaian continued her hot streak by putting Army up 1-0 in the 28th minute by beating the keeper to her right side.
The goal is her third in as many games and her third consecutive game with the game winning goal.
As a whole, the Black Knights possessed the ball for most of the first half, which has been consistent for this three game homestand. UAlbany led in total shots 9-4 but Army has two shots on goal compared to just one from the Great Danes.
Melanie Hupp opened the second half with her first goal since her freshman season in 2020. She sent a shot off the keeper, stayed with the ball and sent it to the back of the net to double the Black Knight lead.
Ariana Diaz in her collegiate debut went on to score her first career goal in the 90th minute to expand the Army lead to 3-0.
Sage Strohman went on to make six saves in her second consecutive shutout.
The Black Knights now turn their focus to conference play where they will open the Patriot League slate at American on Saturday at 1 PM.
