Sharpshooters Close Out Fall Schedule

Lexington, Ky. – Sophomore Ashton Arlington along with freshmen Brenna Green and Addison Antwiler led the No. 13 Army West Point rifle team in its final fall slate against No. 10 Memphis in a neutral site match held at the University of Kentucky Rifle Range at Barker Hall.
The Black Knights fell to the Tigers 4704-4643 in a Great America Rifle Conference match in closing out their fall schedule on the road.
Arlington turned in Army's highest individual finish placing third in smallbore with a 581, just four points off Memphis winner Katrina Demerle's 585. Arlington recorded 30 centers to Demerie's 32.
Green took fifth with a 579 followed by Antwiler's 578 in placing sixth rounding out the top shooters. In the aggregate scoring Antwiler led the way with a fifth-place 1167, followed by Green's 1162, Arlington's 1161 and senior Briggs Moore 's 1160.
Antwiler set the pace in air rifle with a 589 for sixth place with Army grabbing the ninth thru 13 spots rounded out by Moore (585), Bull and Green with 583s, Jennings (582) and Arlington (580).
"This weekend was another tough one for us," noted head coach Leighton Dempster. "We made some mistakes that were hard to overcome and that led to poor performances across the board. We'll look to re-work our competition mindset and training approach this winter break before heading up to Alaska in January."
