Wrestling Set to Face Iowa Friday

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Army West Point Wrestling faces another Big Ten conference opponent this Friday night in St. Charles, Mo. when they take on the No. 2 Iowa Hawkeyes at Francis Howell High School, just outside of St. Louis.Â

Friday's event, featuring Princeton vs. Iowa ahead of the Black Knights' dual vs. the Hawkeyes, is branded as the CFFC Match Day: Uncivil War.

The Black Knights are coming off a second-place team finish at the Black Knight Invitational November 17, finishing behind only Penn State, who is currently ranked No. 1 nationally. Ethan Berginc won the championship at 133 lbs, while Charles Farmer (125 lbs) and Gunner Filipowicz (165 lbs)—both No. 2 seeds in their respective weight classes—fell in their respective finals to top-seeded wrestlers from Penn State.Â

Army is 3-0 in duals this season, having knocked off Gardner-Webb, Purdue and Buffalo. The Black Knights are currently receiving votes in the NWCA Coaches Poll.Â
