Gymnastics Concludes Individual Event Finals at the West Point Open

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point gymnastics team concluded the second and final day of the West Point Open with strong performances in the individual event finals.
Junior Maddox Pabellon (Houston, Texas/Logos Preparatory Academy (Houston Gym Center)) claimed the pommel horse championship, delivering the highest score of the night with a 14.100.
Sophomore Noah Duran earned two podium finishes, taking second in the pommel horse with a score of 13.450 and second in the parallel bars with a 13.400.
Tyson Phelps secured a second-place finish on the high bar, scoring 13.150.
Nick Lester contributed solid performances, finishing fourth in both vault (13.950) and high bar (12.900).
Jojo Buselmeier competed on floor exercise and still rings, placing eighth (11.750) and sixth (12.550), respectively.
Freshman Ben Aguilar, making his NCAA debut this weekend, impressed with a fourth-place finish in the floor exercise, scoring 13.300.
Conor Heary represented the Black Knights on still rings, earning fourth place with a score of 12.950.
Fellow freshman Cash Johnston, also making his NCAA debut, placed fifth on the parallel bars with a score of 12.650.
Another freshman, Jake Prabhakaran (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit Tampa (EVO)), finished sixth on the pommel horse, scoring 12.600.
Gabe Almeida rounded out the competition for Army with a seventh-place finish on still rings, scoring 12.350.
The Black Knights return to action on Saturday, January 18, traveling to State College to face Penn State in a dual meet.
