Jack De Simone Named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following an impressive performance in Army's crucial road win over Lafayette on Saturday, Jack De Simone was named the Patriot League Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
De Simone, a native of Sedalia, Colo., scored the game-winning goal in the Black Knights 2-0 road win over Lafayette on Saturday. The victory puts Army in an improved position in the Patriot League Standings as it continues to solidify itself among the top six teams that qualify for the postseason tournament.
After playing a scoreless first half, De Simone finally broke though in the 56th minute with his third goal of the season. The goal was assisted by fellow freshman Nicholas Berardi. The duo also connected for a goal against Holy Cross last Saturday at Malek Stadium.
In addition to De Simone's honor, Berardi, Justin Davidyok and Michael Guiry all received Patriot League Player of the Week Honorable Mentions for their roles in Saturday's win.
The Black Knights are back in action on Friday night as they travel to Baltimore to take on Loyola Maryland. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
