Men's Soccer Drops 4-1 Decision to Stony Brook

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point men's soccer dropped a 4-1 decision to Stony Brook on Tuesday night at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field, as the Seawolves scored a pair of goals in each half to put the game out of reach for the Black Knights.
Stony Brook (2-0-5, 0-0-2) remains undefeated on the season with the win, while Army saw its record fall to 1-3-3, 0-1-0
The Seawolves broke through in the closing minutes of the first half when Tobias Hansen buried a feed from Nelson Reynoso in the 34th minute, and Olsen Aluc doubled the lead just over five minutes later, capping a first half in which Stony Brook out-shot Army, 9-2.
Army came out with far more purpose after the break, out-shooting the Seawolves 8-4 over the final 45 minutes, but Stony Brook struck twice more to put the result away. Aluc scored his second of the day in the 52nd minute off a Nokkvi Hjorvarsson assist, and Sebastian Drummond made it 4-0 in the 74th minute, finishing a play set up by Reynoso and Kyle Smith.
The Black Knights got on the board in the 85th minute when Bruno Perversi converted an assist from Kasem Minzey on a breakaway, cutting the deficit to 4-1, but time ran out before Army could mount a comeback.
Riley Cullum led Army's offense with two shots on goal, while goalkeeper Blair Camargo made two saves across the full 90 minutes in net.
Heidar Hermannsson stopped two shots for Stony Brook, which finished with a 13-10 edge in total shots and a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Army was whistled for cautions on Jacob Nguyen (51:27) and Reef McGee (54:39), while both teams were assessed roughly even numbers of fouls (Stony Brook 9, Army 8) and corner kicks (Stony Brook 5, Army 4).
