Men’s Rugby Set to Battle Air Force in Academy Matchup
October 30, 2025 | Men's Rugby
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Army West Point men's rugby heads west for an academy rivalry matchup at Air Force on Halloween.

Friday's kickoff from USAFA is set for 3:00 p.m. MT / 5:00 p.m. ET. A live stream is unavailable for the match. The fixture comes just one day before Army's football matchup at the Falcons.

"We're looking forward to the test of an Academy match, traveling cross country, playing in altitude, and all on a short week. This challenge is a great opportunity for us to take another step forward and upward in our journey, and we're looking forward to getting after it," said head coach Matt Sherman.

Army goes into the match with a 5-1 record, coming off wins vs. Southern Virginia, at Mary Washington and at Mount St. Mary's (MD).

The Falcons meanwhile —members of D1A Rocky Mountain Conference—enter the contest 1-3 overall, fresh off a win over Utah October 18.

Across its varsity history, Army is 13-2 all-time vs. Air Force, with two consecutive wins in the series. The Black Knights took down their rivals 43-20 a season ago at Anderson Rugby Complex, behind a trio of Noah Sanchez tries.

Statistically, Howie Heller leads the Black Knights with 43 points, including 13 conversions, four penalties and a try. Chance Loudenback—with his four tries—is second on the squad with 20 points.

Army returns home next week for a 6:00 p.m. matchup vs. Penn State November 7.
