October 30, 2025 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point cross country programs look to continue its recent success as it travels to the Patriot League Cross Country Championships on Friday at Lehigh, with the women's race kicking off at 12 p.m., while the men's race will follow at 1 p.m.
The women's team looks like to win its third consecutive team championship, while the men's side looks to return to the top spot for the first time since 2020-21. Both squads enter the championship meet coming off strong performances at the Army-Navy Star Meet two weeks ago in West Point. The women's side put together a perfect score to beat Navy 15-46, while the men impressed but narrowly fell to the Midshipmen.
Entering Friday, the women's team is ranked No. 7 in the USTFCCCA Northeast Region. It's the highest ranking for any of the women's programs in the Patriot League in their respective regions.
Charlotte Richman has led the pace for the Black Knights this season, and showed out against Navy, winning the Star Meet with a blistering time of 19:49.6. It was nearly 25 seconds clear of second place. Richman finished second at the championships in 2024.
On the men's side Nathan Davis – who missed the Star Meet – will return to the course on Friday. The senior captain is one of the most storied racers in program history and finished second in the men's championship race last season.
In total, seven cadet-athletes made All-Patriot League, with four on the women's team and three on the men's.
Coaches Corner – Director of Cross Country Mike Smith
Women's Program
"The competitive level of women's cross country in the Patriot League has improved significantly in the last few years and we have been fortunate to play a role in that. The meet will be hotly contested tomorrow, and we will embrace the challenge of competing at a high level. The Lehigh course is familiar to our team; we have run it many times and we are prepared to do our best."
Men's Program
"Our men are looking forward to testing their limits tomorrow. We have a strong group of veteran guys that are ready to compete at a high level against a very competitive field of teams and some elite individuals. We have run the Lehigh course many times, so the guys are familiar and know what to expect from the terrain. We are prepared."
