Women’s Soccer Earns 400th Program Victory against Loyola Md. in Patriot League First Round

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army Women's Soccer earned their 400th program victory in a 3-1 win over the Loyola Md. Greyhounds on Sunday after in the Patriot League Playoffs. For Army West Point (12-5-2), junior Maddi Woodward scored her first goal of the season and earned her first career game-winning goal.
The Black Knights now advance as the No.3 seed to play No 2. Colgate on Thursday, Nov. 6 in Hamilton, N.Y. for a spot in the Patriot League Championship game.

- The Black Knights got on the board early at 9:04 off a strike from junior Sabrina Rogers. Rogers stole the ball away the Loyola defender just outside the box. Rogers carried it in and took a shot halfway thru the box that hit the left corner of the net to make it 1-0.
- The Black Knights took a lead into the locker room, outshooting the Greyhounds 10 to 3 in the first half.
- Army scored their second of the afternoon off a strike from junior Maddi Woodward that proved to be the eventual game-winner in the 48th minute. Senior Bella Cooke carried the ball down the left side of the box and passed into the box. Senior Brigid Duffy let the ball go thru and it connected with Woodward at the top of the box. Wooward took a shot that hit the top right side to double the lead.
- Army added an insurance goal on Duffy's 14th of the year at 56:41. Rogers passed a thru ball ahead at the midfield line. Duffy beat the defender to the ball and carried it across the box and around the Loyola goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
- Loyola added a goal at 62:30 to make it 3-1.
