SAN DIEGO – Army West Point women's tennis' Isabella Brilliant and Madison Smith are set for the ITA Conference Masters Championships, held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego November 6-9.
The pair will represent both Army and the Patriot League in the women's doubles draw, having secured a spot by winning the ITA Master's Qualifier October 19 in Bethlehem, Pa.
Brilliant and Smith will open play at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET vs. Melisa Mekic and Diana Craciun of Alabama State. The winner of that match advances to Friday's Round of 16 match vs. top-seeded Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang of Virginia, whom open with a bye.
Draws, results and the stream are available in the links above.
Brilliant and Smith punched their ticket to San Diego via the Patriot League ITA Masters Qualifier event, which acts as the Patriot League's individual championships. The pair defeated Navy's Nicole Fu and Olivia Fermo on their way to the championship match, of which they beat Lehigh's Maggie Forkner and Lena Dogadalski, 8-3
Three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place).
When playing together this season, Brilliant and Smith are 13-1 in doubles.
