Four Black Knights Named Men’s Soccer All-Conference
November 07, 2025 | Men's Soccer
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following an impressive regular season that saw the Army West Point men's soccer team finish third in the Patriot League Standings, Jubril Bamgbala, Kelly Cooper, Jack Meyer and Jack De Simone earned spots on the All-League Team, the conference announced on Friday afternoon.
Bamgabala and Cooper were named First Team All-Patriot League, while Meyer and De Simone were named to the Third Team All-Patriot League. This marks the most players Army has had on the All-Conference Team since the 2022 season, when six Black Knights earned the honors.
"These awards are a reflection of the heard that all 34 guys have given over the regular season," Head Coach Brian Plotkin said. "I am proud of these four and I feel a few others were deserving as well. The team's finish in third place was most important, and we are glad to be training today and looking forward to the First Round on Saturday at Malek Stadium."
Cooper, a junior from Atlanta, Ga., and one of three captains, has been one of the most impressive defenders in the conference this season and a key reason for Army's defensive success. He has anchored a backline that has helped put together eight shutouts, including ones in each of the final three games. Cooper has started and played in every single game this season. He has also played 90 minutes in every game this season, with the exception of the Army-Navy Cup in which he played 85 minutes.
Cooper scored the first goal of his collegiate career in Army's 1-0 conference-opening victory at home against Boston U. He added his second goal of the season against Columbia on Oct. 14.
Joining Cooper on the First Team is Bamgbala, who finished the season tied for first on the team with five goals and second on the team with 10 points. The junior forward from North Providence, R.I., has played and started in all but one game this season. Bamgbala scored in each of the first two games of the season, which included scoring the game-winner against Big Ten foe Penn State on Aug. 24.
Bamgbala's best performance this season came in Army's dominant 4-0 victory over Navy, in which he scored two goals in less than a minute to put the game out of the reach of the Midshipmen. He finished the regular season leading the team in shots and shots on goal.
Meyer, a senior midfielder, earned his first Patriot League All-Conference honors after a strong season that saw him serve as captain of the team. He was a strong presence in the middle of the field, generating both offense and putting together stout defensive play. Meyer started and played in 14 games this season and finished fifth on the team in minutes played. He had his best offensive season, posting career-highs in points (4) and assists (4). The Southlake, Texas native had two assists in the Army-Navy Cup.
Army's final All-Conference nod went to freshman forward Jack De Simone. A native of Sedalia, Colo., De Simone was a key reason Army was able to get at the end of the season and clinch home field advantage for the First Round of the Patriot League Tournament. De Simone finished tied for the lead in goals on the team with five and scored a goal in each of the last four games of the regular season. This impressive offensive display earned him back-to-back Patriot League Rookie of the Week nods.
