Two Men’s Soccer Players Earn 2026 Preseason All-Patriot League Team Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Two Army West Point men's soccer players landed on the 2026 Preseason All-Patriot League Team the Patriot League announced on Thursday morning along with their preseason poll and major awards. Seniors Kelly Cooper and Jubril Bamgbala both earned spots on the preseason league team.
Kelly Cooper, a native of Atlanta, Ga. and a Geospatial Information Science major, landed on the 2026 League Preseason Poll after appearing in all 18 of the team's games last season and leading the Black Knights in minutes played with 1,615. Cooper's lockdown defense helped lead Army to eight shutouts in 2025, three of which were consecutive to close out the season. Additionally, he scored two goals and totaled four points on the offensive side of the ball. Cooper earned 2025 All-Conference and First Team All-Patriot League honors for his performance.
Jubril Bamgbala, a forward from North Providence, Rhode Island, and a Systems Engineering major, landed on the preseason poll following a breakout 2025 junior season. He started all 17 games in which he appeared, totaling 1,083 minutes on the pitch while recording 10 points and tying for the team lead with five goals. Bamgbala also led the Black Knights in shots on goal with 16 on the year. For his efforts, Bamgbala earned All-Conference and First Team All-Patriot League honors. In the 2025 Army-Navy Cup, Bamgbala scored two goals against the Midshipmen, leading the Black Knights to an impressive 4-0 victory.
Both Cooper and Bamgbala helped lead the Black Knights to the No. 3 seed in the 2025 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men's Soccer Championship.
