HAMILTON, N.Y. – Army Men's Soccer defeated Colgate 4-0 on Tuesday night at Beyer-Small '76 Field in Hamilton, N.Y. With the win Army closes out the 2026 season with a 3-8-4 overall record and a 2-6-1 mark in Patriot League play. Colgate finishes out the regular season 4-9-4 overall, with a 2-5-2 conference record.
Army's victory spoiled the Raiders' playoff hopes, as they needed a win combined with a Lafayette draw or loss to Lehigh to claim the Patriot League's No. 6 seed.
How it Happened:
Colgate got off to a fast start offensively generating 21 shots and 10 corner kicks in just the first half. The Raiders consistently got shots on net, but Army goalkeeper Blair Camargo stood tall, registering nine critical saves in the opening 45 minutes of the game to keep the score 0-0.
Despite the lopsided possession, the Black Knights capitalized on an opportunity late in the half. In the 37', Sophomore Jack De Simone broke the deadlock with his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Nicholas Berardi and Kasem Minzey to give Army a 1-0 advantage at the halftime break.
The Army offense erupted coming out of the locker room for the second half, putting the game out of reach with a stunning three-goal surge in a span of five minutes.
Freshman Chris Runde ignited the second-half scoring in the 49' with an unassisted strike for his first goal of his collegiate career. Less than three minutes later, Runde struck again, finding the back of the net in the 52' for an unassisted goal to extend the Black Knight's lead to 3-0. Jack De Simone kept the Army offense rolling when he scored off a feed from Nicholas Berardi for his second goal of the night in the 54'.
Leading with a four-goal cushion, the Army defense locked down the Colgate offense for the remainder of the match to preserve the team's first shutout since their scoreless draw against No. 12 Akron on Aug. 24.
Colgate continued to press forward, with 11 shots in the second half, but Army's defenders froze the Raiders' offense. Key defensive contributors for Army include Kelly Cooper, Sebastian Woehl, and Justin Davidyock who each logged a full 90 minutes of action. Army goalkeepers Blair Camargo and Keanu Likewise combined for 14 saves to protect the shutout, turning away a final strike in the 89' from Jack Beerling to seal the dominant 4-0 season finale.
By the Numbers:
Shots: Colgate outshot Army 32-8.
Corner Kicks: Colgate took more corners with 14 to Army's four.

Cards: YC – Army #18 Nicholas Berardi (40:39)
