Volleyball Journeys to Lehigh Valley for Matches Versus Lehigh, Lafayette

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point volleyball (16-6, 10-3) will head west to Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday to play two matches, playing the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks (10-12, 4-9) and the Lafayette College Leopard (4-18, 2-10).
First, the Black Knights head to Bethlehem, Pa., for their second match of the season against Lehigh, this time in Leeman-Turner Arena, on November 7 at 7 p.m. ET. Army defeated the Mountain Hawks 3-1 in the first game between the two teams on Sept. 26.
Then, Army moves back east to Easton, Pa., taking on the Lafayette Leopards inside Kirby Sports Center on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. ET. The Black Knights swept the Leopards in their last matchup on Sept. 27 inside Gillis Field House.
If fans can't make the matchups in Pennsylvania this weekend, both matches will stream live on ESPN+.
ARMY STORYLINES:
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEKEND: The Black Knights finished their final regular season games at home 1-1, falling to the new top team in the Patriot League, American, 3-0, but then earned thrilling 3-2 win over Navy on Senior Night.
MURAKAMI MAGIC: Chloe Murakami has had a breakout season, becoming one of Army's most dangerous threats. She leads the team overall and in league play in kills, kills per set, points, points per set and in service aces. Last week, she finished with a team-best 36 kills, averaging 4.5 kills per set while hitting .215 percent. On Saturday, she set a new single game career-high of 22 kills while hitting .288 and added a team-high three service aces and two blocks. She finished the night with a career-high 26.0 points in Army's win over Navy.
LEGACY GAME FOR LYNCH: Senior outside hitter Mackenzie Lynch had a career performance in Army's Senior Night win against Navy on Saturday. Lynch finished the match with a career-high 24 kills while hitting .447 from the outside. She also added a team-high 19 digs for a double-double alongside one block to finish with 25.0 points. The performance comes off of Lynch receiving back-to-back Patriot League Player of the Week honors on Oct. 21 and Oct. 28.
SEASON SERIES SWEEPS: As of this point in the season, the Black Knights have swept the season series with three of their Patriot League opponents: Loyola Maryland, Holy Cross and Navy. Army first swept Loyola with back-to-back 3-1 wins on Oct. 11 and Oct. 18. The Black Knights added Holy Cross to the list after earning two 3-0 sweeps against the Crusaders on Oct. 3 and Oct. 26. Finally, Navy joined the list after this weekend, with Army earning a 3-1 win against the Midshipmen on Sept. 19, then most recently a 3-2 on Nov. 1.
PARKER RUNNING THE NET: Sophomore middle blocker Michelle Parker had a big week at the net for Army last week. Parker finished the week with a team-high 11 total blocks, earning a season-high eight blocks in Army's most recent win over Navy. The sophomore now leads the team in blocking this season with 56.0 total blocks while averaging 0.92 blocks per set. She also is second on the team with a .259 hitting percentage.
DEFENDING THE BACK LINE: Freshman libero Annette Lee made her 16th and 17th start last week as Army's primary back line defender. Lee currently sits in third overall on the team in digs this season, having 211 digs so far in 2025, while also averaging a .951 reception percentage. The freshman finished last week with 26 digs, which included a team-high 19 digs in Army's five set win over Navy on Saturday, Nov. 1. Lee has earned match-highs in digs in seven games this season, five of the games being wins.
JACK OF ALL TRADES: After missing three weeks of the season, Juliette Myrick returned to the floor for the Black Knights on Oct. 18 against Loyola Maryland. Since her return, the setter had finished with 20+ assists in four games plus added 29 kills. Myrick also has 43 digs and eight blocks in her return as well. She leads the team averaging 6.51 assists per set, and is third on the team in service aces with 15 total this season.
SETTING THE STANDARD: Army holds some of the best numbers in NCAA Division I in several statistical categories. Army's defense is ranked towards the top 30 in the nation, averaging 16.23 digs per set. The team is also in the top 65 or higher in three other statistical categories, including opponent hitting percentage (35), kills per set (46) and assists per set (63). They are also are in the top 20 for team attacks per set (17).
DIGGING FOR THE WIN: The Black Knights are one of the top teams in the country in defending their back line. Army currently averages 16.37 digs per set, which ranks 23rd in NCAA Div. I, above schools including Texas, Penn State, Louisville, Creighton, Pitt, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Mackenzie Lynch leads Army with 227 digs this season, with Chloe Murakami adding 200 and Annette Lee adding 185. The duo of Army setters, Naomi Chinchar and Juliette Myrick, add 193 and 150 digs respectively, and Nicole Stroud also adds 100+ digs with 115 overall this season.

Scouting the Mountain Hawks
- Lehigh is on the cusp of making the Patriot League Tournament, currently sitting tied for sixth in the standings with Loyola Maryland, with a 10-12 overall record and a 4-9 Patriot League record.
- Ufuoma Omene and Natalie Luscomb carry the weight of the offense, both registering a team high 214 kills and 2.68 kills per set. Omene averages a team-best 3.08 points per set.
- Abby Felkai runs the offense, cataloguing 476 assists and 5.88 assists per set. She is also second on the team in serving with 30 aces this season.
- One-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week Sophia Bond defends the back line with 329 digs (4.06 digs a set) with a .963 reception percentage while also having a team-best 36 service aces.
- Madison McCartney guards the net with 102.0 total blocks and averages 1.26 blocks per set.

Scouting the Leopards
- Lafayette sits in eighth in the Patriot League standings with its 4-18 overall record and 2-10 record in Patriot League play.
- Auma Mbeche-Odhiambo leads the Leopards' attack, averaging a team-high in kills (244), kills per set (3.43) and points per set (3.43).
- Mackenzie Calhoun and Sophia Wilson split setter duties, with Calhoun having 420 assists with a team-high 5.32 assists per set, and Wilson adding 304 total assists and 3.90 assists per set.
- Emily Gouldrup leads Lafayette's digging efforts with 393 digs and 4.97 digs per set. As for blocking, Abby Nicholson holds a team-high 83 blocks and 1.05 blocks per set.
