Army West Point Athletics

From the Desk of AD #31
December 11, 2025 | General
Hello Army West Point Community,
Welcome back to another edition of From the Desk of the AD - a platform from my perspective to keep you informed, engaged, and connected with everything happening in Army West Point Athletics and the Army West Point Athletic Association. Through this message, I'll be sharing important department updates, celebrating the accomplishments of our outstanding cadet-athletes, and offering insights into the dynamic world of college athletics. All of this is grounded in the four pillars of our Fruits of Victory strategic plan: Competitive Success, Delivering an Extraordinary Division I Experience, Public Engagement and Revenue Generation, and Sustainability.
BEAT NAVY!
Â
Exciting (and busy) times ahead! Yes… it's Beat Navy Week, but we also have tremendous updates across our institution worth celebrating. I'm writing to you from Las Vegas, where we just accepted the Distinguished American Award from the National Football Foundation that celebrated the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA - a meaningful recognition for both institutions represent.
Â
This Saturday's Army–Navy Game reminds us why we love college athletics – and what it truly stands for. Through competition, it showcases character, selfless service, and sacrifice, offering the nation a rare glimpse of what "right" looks like on the biggest stage.
Â
At a time when some programs are opting out of bowl games, I'm especially proud of our leadership and coaches for staying focused on what matters most: the cadet–athlete experience and our mission of developing second lieutenants and leaders of character.
Â
I look forward to seeing many of you at this week's festivities. To help you get ready, I've included a few links below to get you in the Beat Navy spirit. And don't worry - I'm not expecting any Oscar nominations anytime soon.

The Army Black Knights earned that lead by capturing league titles in women's cross country and women's soccer, and by advancing to the women's volleyball championship match.

The Army A Club announced an extraordinary fundraising milestone, raising $2.93 million from 4,486 gifts made by 3,981 donors. This achievement reflects more than generosity – it's the result of true alignment across our community. Support from our partners at the West Point Association of Graduates, the dedication of our volunteers, and the passion of our incredible fans and alumni all came together to make this possible. Their shared belief in the vital role athletics plays in developing cadet-leaders continues to drive our mission forward. This record-setting effort strengthens the resources available to our cadet-athletes and reinforces the tremendous impact of a united Army West Point family.

ARMY WEST POINT FOOTBALL HAS ACCEPTED AN INVITATION TO THE WASABI FENWAY BOWL
Â
The Black Knights will face the UConn Huskies on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at historic Fenway Park in Boston — with kickoff scheduled for 2:15 p.m. ET.
Â
This marks the first time in program history that an Army bowl game will be within driving distance of West Point — a unique opportunity for the Corps, cadet-athletes, alumni, and fans to come together and show their support.
Â
It will be the 12th bowl appearance in Black Knights history. Under head coach Jeff Monken, Army holds an 8–3 all-time bowl record, including 5–1 under Monken.
Â
The Wasabi Fenway Bowl is one of only three postseason college-football games played in a Major League Baseball stadium - a fitting stage to showcase Army's program and values on a national platform.
