Hockey Falls 3-0 to Dartmouth in Hanover

HANOVER, N.H. – Army West Point hockey (5-9-4, 2-8-3 Atlantic Hockey America) traveled up to Hanover, N.H. to take on No. 8-ranked Dartmouth (11-0-0, 6-0-0 ECAC Hockey) on Friday night.
Army posted sophomore netminder JJ Cataldo in goal where he logged 37 saves against Dartmouth's 40 total shots on goal.
Dartmouth sent Roan Clarke between the pipes where he tallied 19 saves against Army's offense to blank the Black Knights.
The Black Knights held the Big Green scoreless for the first 20 minutes of action, but a late surge in the third period sealed the win for the home team.
Army stepped to the No. 8 ranked Big Green in the first period, holding Dartmouth scoreless despite an 11-5 shot differential through the first 20 minutes.
The Black Knights pressed back in the second period, but Dartmouth struck first with a power-play goal 11 seconds before the 10-minute mark.
Despite a late push from the Black Knights, the Big Green maintained their 1-0 lead through to the second intermission.
The Big Green came out roaring in the third period, controlling the offensive possession to the tune of a 13-3 shot differential in the third period.
Dartmouth extended their lead late in the third period with a rushing goal with a minute and 46 seconds left on the clock at even-strength before adding an empty-net goal to their tally 45 seconds later to end the game with a 3-0 lead.
