AJ Pilate Tapped for Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 3 Army West Point men's lacrosse senior AJ Pilate earned his first Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week title on Monday after an impressive showing in Army's 13-4 win at Lehigh on Saturday.
Pilate picked up a team-high five ground balls in Army's win at Lehigh, earning a tied-for-team high two caused turnovers to his tally as well to help Army's defense hold the Mountain Hawks to just 27 total shots and 15 shots on goal in the contest.
The Massapequa, N.Y. native was a threat in the offensive zone as well, putting both of his shots on goal and notching his second career goal to help Army to its 13-4 lead.
With his influence, Army recorded its seventh game this season out-scoring its opponent by at least five goals and its fourth consecutive game with at least a nine goal advantage over its opponent.
The win marks the Black Knights' second 7-0 start to the season since 1958, previously recording such a strong start in the 2024 season.
Army will return to its home field at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. on Saturday, March 22nd to take on Boston University at noon.
