WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Patriot League announced its softball postseason awards on Wednesday, with junior infielder Ashton White being named Player of the Year, and Army Head Coach Jen Consaul receiving Coach of the Year honors.
In addition to the two major awards, nine Black Knights earned Patriot League All-League honors, setting a new program record for the most Army players named to an All-League postseason team.
Earning spots on the First Team were Ashton White, junior infielder Taylor Brown, and sophomore pitcher Katelyn Flanders.
Six Black Knights were selected to the Second Team: freshman outfielders Annie Christina and Sienna Tepley, junior designated player Caitlyn Newburn, sophomore catcher Emma Murchison, senior second baseman Maaika Dones, and junior pitcher Breanna Izzo.
White becomes the fifth player in program history to earn Patriot League Player of the Year honors—and the first since 2016. She joins a distinguished group that includes Colleen McCabe (1991), Paula Bostwick (1992), three-time winner Nicki Robbins (2000–02), and Kasey McCravey (2016).
White led the team during the regular season in nearly every offensive category, including a .381 batting average, .972 OPS, .545 slugging percentage, 67 hits, 31 runs, 12 doubles, 18 extra-base hits, and 38 RBIs. She also posted a .427 on-base percentage and drew 14 walks.
This honor follows White's selection as the Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year. The Alabama native also earned First Team All-League honors in 2023 and 2024.
Jen Consaul, in her third season at the helm in West Point, earns Coach of the Year after leading Army to a 33–20 overall record and a 16–2 mark in conference play.
The Black Knights' 16 Patriot League victories also set a new program record for most conference wins in a single season. The previous high of 15 wins was set in both 2004 and 2010.
Consaul becomes the third head coach in program history to receive Coach of the Year recognition, joining Jim Flowers (1991, 1992, 2002) and Michelle DePolo (2010, 2016).
