Eicher Named 2025 Tewaaraton Award Finalist

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Army West Point men's lacrosse senior attackman Jackson Eicher earned the nod from the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday as one of the five finalists for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award, presented by Stifel. Eicher is the fourth Black Knight to ever earn recognition as a finalist for the award.
The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the preeminent award in lacrosse, presented annually to the top male and female college lacrosse players in the nation. Eicher and the nine other finalists have been invited to the nation's capital for the annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, taking place on May 29th at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
The five male finalists for the 2025 edition of the award are Eicher, Notre Dame's Chris Kavanagh, Harvard's Sam King, Cornell's CJ Kirst, and Princeton's Coulter Mackesy.
The male and female Tewaaraton recipients will be chosen at the end of the 2025 NCAA lacrosse season by selection committees appointed by the Tewaaraton Foundation, the groups are made up of premier college coaches are chosen annually by the Foundation to serve on the committee.
"Jackson had a historic season and a tremendous career," commented Jack Emmer Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Joe Alberici. "He was the catalyst for our offense that consistently performed at an elite level. His ability to affect the game as a shooter, dodger, passer, and off the ride makes him a unique talent. Most importantly, Jackson provided outstanding leadership in our program throughout the season."
Eicher first earned recognition for the award in March when he was named one of the top 25 finalists for the 2025 edition of the award alongside teammates AJ Pilate, Evan Plunkett, and Sean Byrne to make up the largest contingent of finalists from a single program.
The Warrenton, Va. native joins John Walker, Jeremy Boltus, and Brendan Nichtern in the ranks of Army Men's Lacrosse players to be named Tewaaraton Award Finalists. Walker received the nod in 2005 while Boltus was named to the list in 2011 and Nichtern followed suit in 2022.
Eicher has been a dominant offensive force for the Black Knights, earning a 3.86 goals per game average and a 6.07 points per game mark that both stand second in the nation. The six-foot, four-inch attackman tallied ten hat tricks in his senior campaign with five performances with at least five goals.
Eicher spread the offensive wealth around, leading the team in assists with a career-high 31 assists on 2.21 assist per game pace that stands tied for 11th in the nation to help the Black Knights outscore their opponents with 199 goals to 105 and 338 points to 172.
With 54 total goals this season, Eicher set a new program record for goals in a single season while also moving into the top 20 of Army's all-time scoring leaders with 147 career points, Army's top 20 for career goals (95), tied for second in program history for points in a season (85), and tied for 13th in program history for assists in a single season.
